Pithomyces

Habitat and Health Implications
This genus is common in soil and on dead or decaying plant materials
especially leaves and grasses. Rarely found indoors, but it can grow on
paper. No reports of allergies or infections, but some species produce a toxin
that causes facial eczema in sheep. It produces Sporidesmin,
Cyclodepsipeptides and Sporidemolides mycotoxins.
