| Myxomycetes Habitat and Health Implications |
| Another name for Myxomycetes is slime molds but these are not true fungi. They exhibit characteristics of both protozoans (one-celled microorganisms) and fungi. Some species are found in soil, decaying logs, stumps, dead leaves, particularly in forested regions, and other organic matter. Occasionally found indoors. Some allergenic properties have been reported but generally do not pose any health concerns to humans nor animals. |
