| This fungus is commonly found as a saprophyte in soil and plant material. In addition to being a common contaminant, it has also been recovered from animal material, cheese, and nuts. Can cause disseminated and pulmonary infections in immune compromised hosts. No information is available regarding other inhalation health effects, or toxicity. Allergenicity has not been studied. Rarely found indoors but may be identified on surfaces by tape lifts, tease mounts from bulk samples, and in air by culturable sampling. |
