Basidiospores

Habitat and Health Implications
Basidiospores are sexual spores that are produced by Basidiomycetes. They are
saprobes and a plant pathogens, mainly found in gardens, forests, and
woodlands. Many basidiospores are reported to be allergenic and are rarely
opportunistic pathogens. Basidiospores may produce toxins, including
Amanitins, Honomethly-hydrazine, Muscarin, Ibotenic Acid, and Psilocybin.
